Trip Happiness

I don't know if I've made this clear before, but I LOVE the California coast. The whole aura of coastal mountains, fog and little towns makes me giddy inside. Our whole family went on a day trip to somewhere called I can't remember. I also loved the outfit I was wearing which could have easily converted from a summer hiking outfit to a moderately nice outfit with the addition of my sister's scarf that I'm wearing.
We only got a view of All of San Fransisco!

Coolest background ever!

One of my first efforts at photography

These are so cool! I've never actually seen a lifeguard's station before but they just look so vintagey! What's not to love?
What do you love about the coast?

Shadow of the Ukulele
I, Sydney, recently got a ukulele! I have named it Kani, in Hawaiian it means beautiful sound. Unlike Philothea`s ukulele that is a soprano, I got a concert ukulele. The concert ukulele has the same notes and string names as the soprano. The only differences are that the neck is longer and the body is bigger.

Loving the scenery!

Sock Bun

Sock buns are a great way to upcycle your old socks instead of throwing them away.
Here is the step by step way to put your hair up in a cute sock bun!

Step 1.
Get an old sock and cut off the toe. Roll it up, put your hair down and then your ready to style.

Here is an example of "ready to start".
 Step 2.
Put your hair up in a high ponytail. How high you put up the ponytail is how high the bun will be.

 Step 3.
Now here's the tricky part. My stylist, (Thea) couldn't make this, so we went to her mom, an expert on the art of sock bunning. But the idea is to wrap all your hair around the sock starting at the tips of the hair and rolling your way in. This will take a few tries to look good, but the end result looks pretty cool.

The finished product!

Do you have any creative ways you make your hair buns?

Cute Around the House

If you're wondering why we have not been posting for the last week well we've been at a camp. But now summer is ended for me and I'm back to blogging and school. I've decided to make the cute around the house a regular Wednesday tradition. I'll post pictures of what I found over the week that was cute, pretty, or just plain old cool.

Bugs and Animals

I love nature and all of the wildlife and insects that live in it. Here I'll put in all of the pictures I can get of these marvelous creatures! Pictures of my dog Ceaser will probably sneak in the mix to, well, he is an animal!

Ceaser, my doggy!

Food, check.

I know what he is saying by just looking into his eyes, "Help me"!

My Musical Family

Sydney and I
Well, I suppose if I'm going to post about my ukulele, I might as well post about the rest of my family. After all, they might get jealous if Little Guy got all the attention. This is Sydney. She's a full sized cello who is strong and tough, but beautiful and delicate just like my close friend who I named her after.

Perspective on cello

My youngest brother wanted to be in the photo too!

This is Miriam (my piano). I named her that because like my little sister, she's always there and in tune.

If you had an instrument (or if you do already) what would you name it?

Garden giant

I was looking around in my garden when I saw this monster! The species of this giant is Zucchini.

This veggie weighs 8.5 pounds, is 18 inches long and at its thickest point is 5 inches wide!

I decided to dress up "The Giant", like the color mix?

My dog Ceaser doesn't seem to happy but the zucchini looks just fine.

Why do you think she's so happy?
